Bond of Friendship

With the support of Dalgety Bay and Hillend Community Council, and Fife Council, 'The Friends' has established a ‘Bond of Friendship’ with the Engcongolweni community.  Essentially, this is an agreement with the Chiefs and Village Headmen and establishes a pattern of co-operation and support between the Dalgety Bay and Engcongolweni communities.

This Bond of Friendship was signed in September 2009, when a group from Engcongolweni visited Dalgety Bay.  Signatories were the Community Council, the ‘Friends’ and a representative of the Engcongolweni Chiefs.

The visit was in conjunction with Dalgety Parish Church, Donibristle Primary School and ‘The Friends’.  It was a fact-finding visit, concentrating on developing relationships, building an understanding of cultures and allowing Malawians to experience life in a western society.
